Fans of heavy metal have reason to celebrate as Tony Iommi, iconic guitarist and founding member of Black Sabbath, has confirmed that the band is discussing a possible reunion. This news comes nearly eight years after the group’s supposed farewell performance in Birmingham in 2017.

In a recent interview, Iommi shared that talks between the original members  including Ozzy Osbourne and Geezer Butler have become more serious in recent months.

> “We’ve been in contact, and there’s definitely interest in doing something again,” Iommi said. “I can’t reveal too much just yet, but I will say this: Black Sabbath isn’t over.”

Though no official plans have been announced, Iommi’s comments have fueled speculation that a new project may be on the horizon. Possibilities include a special live show, a short reunion tour, or perhaps even new recordings.

Ozzy Osbourne has also expressed interest in returning to the stage with the band, despite ongoing health issues. “If the opportunity comes and I’m able, I’d love to do it,” Ozzy mentioned in a separate interview last month.

Regarded as pioneers of heavy metal, Black Sabbath’s impact on the music industry is undeniable. The band’s legacy spans more than 50 years, inspiring countless musicians and fans across generations.

Their most recent studio album, 13, was released in 2013 and received widespread praise. A reunion of any kind would be a significant event in rock history, sparking excitement among longtime followers of the group.

For now, the band remains tight-lipped about the specifics, but more updates are expected in the coming weeks as discussions continue behind closed doors.
