Sharon Osbourne says she carries a quiet regret about the final moments she shared with her husband, Ozzy Osbourne not because of anything that was said, but because there wasnโt enough said.
Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Wednesday, Sharon reflected on the last exchange she had with Ozzy, her partner of 43 years. The Black Sabbath legend died in July at age 76 after suffering a heart attack.
According to Sharon, Ozzy had been restless throughout the night and woke her around 4:30 a.m.
โHe said, โWake up,โ and I told him, โIโm already awake youโve woken me up,โโ she recalled. โThen he said, โKiss me,โ and after that, โHug me tight.โโ
She explained that Ozzy often got up early to exercise, and that morning was no different.
Not long after, Sharon heard screams coming from downstairs and rushed to see what was happening.
โThey were trying to resuscitate him, and I kept saying, โDonโt. Leave him. You canโt heโs gone,โโ she said. โI knew instantly. They tried and tried, then airlifted him to the hospital, but I knew he was already gone.โ
In the time since his death, Sharon admits her mind often returns to those final moments.
โIf only I had told him I loved him more,โ she said. โIf only I had held him tighter.โ
Sharon and Ozzy had known each other for 55 years. They first met when Black Sabbath visited the London offices of her father, Don Arden, who managed the band. Their relationship didnโt turn romantic until years later, after Ozzy left Black Sabbath but it would become one of rock musicโs most enduring partnerships.
