In a major development for the college basketball landscape, Andrej Stojaković, one of the most coveted players in the transfer portal, has officially committed to the University of Kentucky. The 6-foot-7 forward, and son of former NBA All-Star Peja Stojaković, brings both talent and star power to a Wildcats program looking to bounce back in the upcoming season.

Stojaković, who spent his freshman year at Stanford, entered the transfer portal following the 2024 season. During his time with the Cardinal, he showcased his versatility, averaging 7.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game while shooting efficiently from the perimeter. His combination of size, shooting ability, and high basketball IQ made him a top target for several powerhouse programs, but it was Kentucky that ultimately secured his commitment.

New head coach Mark Pope has wasted no time in reshaping the roster since taking over in Lexington, and landing Stojaković is seen as a major recruiting win. With his NBA lineage and growing reputation, Andrej is expected to make an immediate impact in the SEC and elevate Kentucky’s offensive firepower.

“This is a program with incredible history, passionate fans, and a clear vision for success,” Stojaković said in a statement. “I’m excited to be part of something special and help bring a championship back to Lexington.”

The addition of Stojaković is another sign that Kentucky is looking to return to national prominence after an underwhelming postseason run. With several high-profile transfers and incoming freshmen joining the team, expectations will be high for the Wildcats heading into the 2025 season.

As college basketball continues to evolve in the era of player movement and NIL deals, Kentucky’s ability to land a rising star like Andrej Stojaković demonstrates its staying power among the sport’s elite.
