Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko recently shared his thoughts on Lewis Hamilton’s adaptation to Ferrari, suggesting that the seven-time world champion has yet to match Charles Leclerc’s performance.

Marko pointed out that during pre-season testing in Bahrain, Leclerc appeared to have the upper hand, likely due to his familiarity with the car and team. While Hamilton completed a significant number of laps and showed gradual progress, Marko believes he is still not on Leclerc’s level.

This comes as Hamilton looks to revive his career with Ferrari after a challenging period at Mercedes. In recent seasons, he has struggled, particularly in qualifying, where he was outperformed by his former teammate George Russell in 19 of 24 races in 2024. Hamilton himself acknowledged his difficulties, admitting he no longer felt as fast as before.

Marko’s remarks highlight the competitive pressure Hamilton faces at Ferrari. As the season unfolds, the focus will be on whether he can close the gap to Leclerc and prove he can still compete at the highest level.
