In the aftermath of one of the most emotional days in rock history, Sharon Osbourne has spoken out following the funeral of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, who was laid to rest yesterday in his hometown of Birmingham.

Still visibly shaken, Sharon described the day as “the most painful of my life,” reflecting on the sea of fans, the music that filled the streets, and the heavy silence that followed the final farewell. “I could feel him everywhere,” she said quietly, holding back tears. “But that didn’t make it hurt any less.”

The funeral, held at St. Martin’s Church, drew thousands to the city where Ozzy’s story began. But while the world gathered to honor a legend, Sharon mourned a man who had been her partner for more than four decades  through chaos, love, battles, and brilliance.

A City Mourned — and So Did She

As the procession ended and the crowd slowly cleared, Sharon was left with the weight of goodbye. Photos from the funeral had shown her clinging to her children, Jack and Kelly, as she walked out of the church. Now, reflecting on that moment, she admitted she could barely remember it.

“I was numb,” she said. “I wasn’t ready to walk away from him. I still don’t know how I did.”

She described hearing fans sing “Mama, I’m Coming Home” outside the church while the family quietly prepared for Ozzy’s burial at a private cemetery nearby. “That song broke me,” she whispered. “He used to sing that in the kitchen sometimes… joking around. And suddenly it was goodbye.”

Sharon’s Message to the Fans

Despite her grief, Sharon expressed deep gratitude to the thousands who traveled from across the U.K. and abroad to honor Ozzy.

“I saw faces in the crowd who grew up with him  people who had his lyrics tattooed on their arms, people who wore his t-shirts from the ‘80s,” she said. “They didn’t come for a show. They came for closure.”

She said the support gave her a strange kind of strength even if only briefly. “You never feel more alone than when you lose the love of your life,” she explained, “but for a few hours, I felt the love he gave to the world coming back to hold me.”

Remembering the Man Behind the Legend

While much of the world saw Ozzy as the wild frontman  the “Prince of Darkness” who screamed into microphones and defied the rules  Sharon remembered a man who laughed too hard at his own jokes, cried at animal rescue commercials, and made tea every morning even when his hands shook.

“He was raw and real,” she said. “He made mistakes, but he never pretended to be perfect. He loved fiercely his music, his family, his fans. That was Ozzy.”

She added that in his final days, he was at peace, even if he knew the end was near. “He said to me, ‘When I go, just make sure I’m still loud.’ And looking at what happened in Birmingham… I’d say he got his wish.”

Life After the Funeral

Sharon said she didn’t yet know what came next. The house, she admitted, felt “hollow.” His chair was still by the window. His books were still beside the bed. His voice still echoed in her mind.

But she promised she would keep his memory alive  not only for herself, but for the millions who still clung to his music.

“I don’t think you ever really move on,” she said. “You just learn how to carry it.”

As Birmingham returns to normal, one thing remains certain: Ozzy Osbourne’s legacy is etched not only in the annals of rock, but in the hearts of those who saw themselves in his madness, his magic, and his music.

And for Sharon, his presence will never truly fade.

“He was my husband, my partner, my best friend,” she said. “The world lost a legend. I lost my world.”
