Lewis Hamilton’s mother, Carmen Larbalestier, aged 69 collapsed suddenly on June 22, 2025, while in Montreal ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix and was rushed to hospital in critical condition, according to multiple reports .
Hamilton, emotional and visibly shaken, announced the news to assembled media and fans just 55 minutes after the incident occurred. With tears in his eyes, he said: “I’ve never felt like this before. My mom has always supported me, and I’m asking for your prayers now more than ever. She hasn’t regained consciousness, and right now, we’re just waiting for any signs of improvement” .
