Hamilton Criticizes FIA in Fiery Radio Outburst Following Disqualification after T…read more

Lewis Hamilton launched a scathing critique of the FIA after being disqualified from Sunday’s Grand Prix, despite originally securing second place. The seven-time world champion expressed his frustration over team radio following the ruling, which cited excessive wear on the plank beneath his Mercedes — a breach of technical regulations.

“This is unbelievable,” Hamilton said over the radio. “We give it everything on track, and this is how it ends? The FIA seriously needs to reflect on its decisions.”

The FIA explained that the underfloor plank, which ensures cars meet the required ride height, was too worn. This automatically triggered a disqualification. While Mercedes accepted the ruling, team boss Toto Wolff voiced his disappointment: “We respect the decision, but the circumstances on this bumpy track made it especially challenging. It’s a tough pill to swallow.”

Hamilton’s sharp remarks have reignited the debate over the FIA’s consistency and decision-making, with some fans applauding his passion while others called for more restraint. Many argue that clearer communication and more balanced judgments are needed to avoid such controversies.

In a follow-up interview, Hamilton maintained a determined stance: “They can take the points, but they won’t take my spirit. We’ll come back fighting at the next race.”

This latest clash with the FIA adds to the tension in a fiercely competitive season, where Hamilton is striving to make history with an eighth world title. As teams regroup and fans debate the decision, the spotlight is now firmly on the FIA’s handling of future race incidents.
