Max Verstappen’s 2025 Formula 1 season got off to a rocky start as the Dutch driver suffered a frustrating Bahrain Grand Prix, finishing well outside the podium and unleashing a furious tirade over team radio. The three-time world champion, known for his intensity on the track, struggled throughout the race due to car issues and what he believed were poor strategic decisions from the Red Bull team.
Right from the opening laps, Verstappen complained about lack of grip and imbalance in the RB21, which appeared off the pace compared to rivals Ferrari and Mercedes. A slow pit stop on lap 18 further dented his race, causing him to lose critical positions and momentum.
As the race slipped away, Verstappen’s frustration turned into rage. Over team radio, he was heard shouting, “This is ridiculous! The car is undriveable what are we even doing here?” His tone left little doubt about his dissatisfaction with the team’s performance.
Team Principal Christian Horner later attempted to downplay the incident, saying, “Max is passionate and demands the best from himself and the team. We didn’t deliver today, and he has every right to be upset.”
The Bahrain Grand Prix result has raised eyebrows in the paddock, as Red Bull’s dominance appears to be under real threat. While it’s only the first race of the season, Verstappen’s outburst signals a potential storm brewing within the team as they head to Saudi Arabia looking for redemption.
