BREAKING: Lakers LeBron James Confirms Final Not… read more.

It’s official  LeBron James is preparing to say goodbye to the game of basketball. The NBA icon has confirmed that the upcoming 2025–26 season will be his final run, bringing an end to one of the most legendary careers in sports history.

And fittingly, he’s choosing to go out just like his hero the late Kobe Bryant.

According to sources close to the 40-year-old Lakers superstar, LeBron made the emotional decision after months of reflection. He will embark on a farewell tour this season, giving fans across the league a final chance to witness the King in action not just as a player, but as a symbol of an era.

“LeBron wants to honor the game, and he wants to do it with grace,” an NBA insider shared. “He’s always admired how Kobe went out celebrated, respected, and fully present for every moment. That’s exactly how LeBron wants to finish his story.”

The announcement was met with a tidal wave of emotions  from gratitude and nostalgia to heartbreak. For over two decades, LeBron has been more than a player. He’s been a movement. A voice. A mentor. A champion. And now, as the curtain begins to close, he’s choosing to give fans and the league one last year to say goodbye.

Just like Kobe did in his iconic 2015–16 farewell season, LeBron will visit every NBA city with a different purpose  not to dominate, but to give thanks. There will be tributes. Ceremonies. Highlights. Tears. And above all, appreciation.

LeBron’s decision comes after fulfilling a personal dream: sharing the NBA court with his son, Bronny James, who just completed his rookie year. That historic moment seemed to bring a sense of closure. “He played with his son. That was the goal,” the insider added. “Now, he wants to end things the right way  not with regret, but with a deep sense of fulfillment.”

Over the course of his unparalleled career, LeBron has shattered records and rewritten history books. He’s the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, a four-time champion, a Finals MVP, and a 20-time All-Star. He’s led three different franchises to championships, built schools, raised voices, and inspired generations.

Now, with one season left, he’s ready to let go.

“It’s been an unbelievable ride,” LeBron said in a brief statement. “I’ve given everything I have to this game. This last season is for the fans, for my teammates, for my family  and for the kid from Akron who dreamed big.”

As the world prepares to watch LeBron’s final chapter unfold, one thing is certain the arenas will be packed, the tributes will be powerful, and the legacy he leaves behind will never fade.

Much like Kobe Bryant before him, LeBron James will exit the game not just as a legend, but as a symbol of what greatness  and gratitude  truly look like.
