BREAKING: Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi Pr…read more.

Although Black Sabbath has officially closed the curtain on their legendary career, guitarist Tony Iommi isn’t stepping away from music just yet. The heavy metal icon has revealed that he is actively working on a new solo album, offering fans a promising glimpse into the next chapter of his musical journey.

In a recent interview, Iommi shared his excitement and determination to complete a project that’s been in the works for some time. “I’m trying to finish what I started,” he said, referring to material he began developing before the COVID-19 pandemic brought much of the music world to a standstill. Now, with a renewed sense of purpose and creativity, the 76-year-old guitarist is back in the studio, pushing forward on a solo effort that promises to carry the spirit of Sabbath into a new era.

Iommi has long been regarded as the architect of heavy metal, thanks to his groundbreaking work with Black Sabbath founding the band in 1968 alongside Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. While Sabbath officially ended their career with 2017’s “The End” tour and final hometown performance in Birmingham, Iommi has remained musically active. He’s collaborated with other artists, composed film scores, and made guest appearances, but fans have eagerly awaited a full solo project.

His last solo studio album, Fused, released in 2005 with vocalist Glenn Hughes, was a thunderous display of Iommi’s signature dark riffs and melodic power. Nearly two decades later, anticipation is building around what his new album will sound like and whether any familiar voices will make guest appearances.

“I’ve got a lot of stuff written,” Iommi noted. “It’s just a matter of putting it all together, getting the right people involved, and taking the time to do it properly.” While no official release date has been announced, the guitarist has made it clear that this isn’t a casual side project it’s a serious effort to channel the energy that made Black Sabbath one of the most influential bands in rock history.

Fans are naturally curious about who might be joining Iommi on the record. While he hasn’t confirmed any collaborators yet, longtime listeners are speculating about the possibility of appearances by past Sabbath members or other well-known rock and metal vocalists.

As the rock world continues to evolve, Tony Iommi remains a steadfast presence a master of the riff, still eager to challenge himself creatively. With this upcoming solo album, he seems intent not just on revisiting the past, but on crafting something fresh and enduring.

“I’ve still got a lot of music in me,” Iommi said. “As long as I can still play, I’ll keep making music.”

And for fans who grew up on the sound of Sabbath or discovered it through newer generations of metal, that’s music to their ears.
