LOS ANGELES  Amid growing rumors about LeBron James’ possible exit from the Los Angeles Lakers, his son Bronny James is instead choosing to remain silent and tune out the rumors.

After one of his recent Lakers Summer League sessions, Bronny spoke with the media and made it clear that he’s unfazed by rumors. “A friend sent me a message wanting to know which team I’d be playing for next year  I hadn’t even heard anything,” he told media. “There’s so much hype going around, but I don’t really pay too much attention to it.”

Entering his second year in the NBA, Bronny also stated he hasn’t spoken about it seriously with his father at all. “We don’t really discuss it. He just tells me to stay focused and not worry about all that.”

LeBron, 40, picked up his \$52.6 million player option for the 2025–26 season. However, his agent Rich Paul has stated that the four-time NBA champion is still weighing his options and watching how the Lakers handle their roster this offseason.

The team has already made its moves, acquiring Deandre Ayton and Jake LaRavia from Memphis. Bronny was optimistic about the moves: “I think the team’s going to be better than we were last season,” he said in an interview.

Bronny is hoping to bounce back from a quiet rookie season, when he averaged 2.3 points per game. In the midst of all the speculation around his dad, he’s staying focused on his own progress and performance.

Wherever LeBron is going next, Bronny’s goal doesn’t shift: staying in check and making his own path in the NBA.
