MotoGP Star Luca Marini officially Confirmed C…read more.

Luca Marini is officially set to make his return to MotoGP action, with Honda confirming that the Italian rider will take part in a private test at the Brno Circuit this week. The test marks Marini’s first time back on the bike since his devastating crash at Suzuka in May, signaling a green light for his comeback campaign.

Marini, who was the victim of a number of serious injuries including a dislocated hip, broken sternum, collarbone, and lung issues has made a remarkable recovery. After spending over a week in hospital in Japan and additional rehabilitation in Italy, the 27-year-old has now been cleared to ride.

Honda HRC has locked in Marini’s participation in the two-day Brno test, where he will rejoin the team in preparation for a full return at the Sachsenring round of the MotoGP championship from July 11–13. The Brno outing will serve both as a medical assessment and performance evaluation, but the decision is final: Marini will be back on the RC213V this week.

The test also holds strategic significance, with Brno set to return to the MotoGP calendar in 2025. Yamaha pairing Miguel Oliveira and Alex Rins will also be present, along with Joan Mir if he receives medical clearance following his Assen crash.

During Marini’s absence, Honda filled his seat with Takaaki Nakagami and Aleix Espargaró, but the team is eager to have their full-time rider back in action. Marini’s return provides much-needed stability as Honda continues development on key upgrades, including a new carbon swingarm and traction control updates.

Rumors of Jorge Martín’s interest in Honda for 2026 have made waves, but the confirmed return of Marini confirms the team’s ongoing belief in the Italian. With his Brno test already confirmed and Sachsenring on the horizon, Marini is well and truly back in the frame and determined to regain his place on the grid.

It is a significant step in what is being dubbed one of the most inspirational comeback stories of the 2025 MotoGP season.
