Legendary Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain continues to make an impact off stage as he visited the Sunrise Hope Orphanage Home in Florida this week. The visit, which took place on June 18, 2025, was part of McBrain’s ongoing efforts to give back to the community following his retirement from touring.
McBrain, known for his powerful presence behind the drum kit, brought smiles and excitement to the children as he spent the day interacting with them, sharing stories from his music career, and even giving an impromptu drumming demonstration using practice pads and hand drums. “It’s all about bringing joy and giving these kids hope,” McBrain said during the visit.
In addition to spending time with the children, McBrain donated a variety of musical instruments to the orphanage, including a beginner drum set, guitars, and keyboards. He expressed hope that the donation would help spark creativity and healing through music among the young residents.
The staff at Sunrise Hope praised McBrain’s humility and warmth. “Nicko wasn’t here just for a photo. He truly connected with the children, listened to them, and inspired them. His visit meant more than words can say,” said the home’s coordinator, Maria Lopez.
This appearance follows McBrain’s recent involvement in charitable efforts earlier in the year, including a benefit concert for HomeSafe. Though retired from live touring, he remains active through philanthropy, running his drum store, and working on his upcoming autobiography.
As Nicko McBrain continues his new chapter away from the global stage, his legacy grows not just in music but in compassion. His visit to the orphanage reaffirmed that rock legends can also be heroes in the lives of those who need it most.
