Kyle Larson Withdraws from 2025 Adelaide Supercars Wildcard After Double Duty Setback

NASCAR champion Kyle Larson has officially withdrawn from his planned debut in the 2025 Supercars Championship, citing logistical challenges and recent racing disappointments. The Hendrick Motorsports driver was slated to compete as a wildcard entry with PremiAir Racing at the Adelaide 500, marking a significant crossover between American and Australian motorsport.

Larson’s decision follows a tumultuous attempt at the prestigious “Double”—racing both the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 on the same day. Unfortunately, both efforts ended prematurely due to crashes, leading to a reassessment of his racing commitments.

“It’s just a lot that goes into it, logistically,” Larson explained. “You have to be down there for probably two or three weeks, and it’s around holiday season, just fresh off our Cup season.”

The withdrawal has surprised many in the motorsport community, especially since contracts were reportedly signed and an official announcement was imminent. This marks the second consecutive year a NASCAR star has pulled out of the Adelaide event, following Kyle Busch’s similar decision in 2024.

Despite this setback, Larson remains focused on his NASCAR career, where he continues to be a formidable competitor. Fans and teams alike hope to see him explore international racing opportunities in the future.
