JJ Redick: Los Angeles Lakers Won’t Be Ready for Title Run Ne…read more.

Former NBA player and current analyst JJ Redick has voiced his skepticism about the Los Angeles Lakers’ chances of being in championship shape for the upcoming NBA season. Speaking during a recent segment, Redick highlighted several concerns about the team’s readiness, chemistry, and overall roster construction, casting doubt on their ability to compete at the highest level.

“The Lakers have talent, no doubt,” Redick said, “but being talented isn’t the same as being in championship form. There are a lot of issues they need to address health, depth, defensive consistency  and I’m not convinced they’ll sort it all out by next season.”

Redick’s comments come as the Lakers prepare for another year with superstar Luka Dončić, who was traded to Los Angeles this past season, alongside Anthony Davis and the veteran core. Despite the big names, the team has struggled with injuries, coaching changes, and on-court inconsistency.

The Lakers’ front office has made clear they intend to contend for a title, but Redick remains unconvinced. “I don’t think they’ll be where they need to be,” he continued. “Other teams in the West are younger, deeper, and more cohesive right now.”

While Lakers fans remain hopeful, Redick’s remarks serve as a reminder that name recognition alone doesn’t guarantee a championship. As the offseason progresses, all eyes will be on the moves the Lakers make to prove their critics wrong and position themselves as true contenders once again.
