HAPPY MOMENT: Today in Suns History: Phoenix Wins First Round Series vs

Phoenix Suns’ Last Playoff Triumph Came on April 25, 2023

April 25, 2023 marked a high point for the Phoenix Suns as they secured a 136-130 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, closing out their first-round series 4-1. After dropping Game 1, the Suns responded with four straight victories, led by standout performances from Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

Despite the Clippers missing Paul George and losing Kawhi Leonard early in the series, Phoenix capitalized on the opportunity, even though their roster lacked cohesion after a turbulent regular season. Durant had only appeared in eight games for the Suns before the playoffs due to injuries, including an MCL sprain suffered with Brooklyn and an ankle injury in March.

Booker emerged as the clear star of the series, averaging over 34 points per game and establishing himself as a top-tier player.

Sadly for Phoenix, that series win remains their most recent playoff success. They were eliminated in six games by the eventual champion Denver Nuggets in the second round and were swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the 2024 playoffs.

The 2024-25 campaign has only added to the struggles, and the Suns now face a steep path back to postseason success.
