Red Bull Racing has officially announced Liam Lawson’s career progression after months of speculation, while confirming the unexpected return of four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel to Formula 1. In a joint statement released today, Red Bull revealed that Lawson, who impressed during his temporary role with AlphaTauri, will step into a full-time racing seat with the team’s sister outfit starting from the next F1 season.
The 21-year-old from New Zealand rose to prominence after replacing Daniel Ricciardo last season, where his strong performances caught the attention of Red Bull’s leadership. His promotion marks part of a strategic reshuffling within the Red Bull driver lineup.
In a parallel announcement, Red Bull also confirmed that Sebastian Vettel will make a remarkable comeback to Formula 1 as an integral part of Red Bull Racing.
