Lewis Hamilton Criticizes FIA After Late Penalty at Chinese Grand Prix…read more.

In a dramatic turn of events at the Chinese Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton expressed frustration with the FIA following a late penalty that saw him lose valuable points. The seven-time world champion was demoted after officials announced a controversial ruling hours after the race had concluded. Hamilton, who initially finished third, dropped to seventh place due to a five-second time penalty for allegedly gaining an advantage by exceeding track limits during a tight battle with rival drivers.

The late decision sparked backlash from fans and left Hamilton visibly annoyed. Speaking to reporters after the ruling, he criticized the FIA for its inconsistent application of penalties. “It’s disappointing to see decisions like this being made so late. We give it everything on track, and then something like this happens off-track,” he said.

The penalty marked a frustrating end to what had been a strong race for Hamilton. Starting from the second row, he fought his way through the grid with strategic overtakes and maintained a competitive pace throughout. However, the post-race investigation overshadowed his efforts.

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff also weighed in, calling for clearer guidelines to avoid such controversies in the future. “The sport needs consistency,” Wolff stated.

Despite the setback, Hamilton remains determined, vowing to bounce back stronger in the next race. The championship battle remains wide open, but tensions between drivers, teams, and the FIA continue to rise as the season unfolds.
