F1 UPDATE:Red Bull Star Blasts ‘Embarrassing’…read more.
Red Bull’s motorsport advisor, Helmut Marko, has criticized rookie driver Isack Hadjar for his emotional reaction after crashing during the formation lap of the 2025 Australian Grand Prix. Hadjar, who was making his Formula One debut, lost control and hit the wall, forcing him to miss the race. Visibly upset, he was seen in tears after the incident, which Marko called “embarrassing” for a driver at this level.
However, Hadjar received support from others in the racing world. Anthony Hamilton, father of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, comforted the young driver, encouraging him to stay positive and look ahead to future races. Racing Bulls team principal Laurent Mekies also defended Hadjar, highlighting his strong performance during practice, where he was even faster than Red Bull’s senior drivers. Mekies emphasized that setbacks like this are part of a rookie’s journey and that Hadjar has the potential to bounce back.
The incident has sparked debate about how young drivers handle pressure in Formula One. While Marko’s remarks reflect a traditional view that drivers should suppress their emotions, many in the sport acknowledge the mental challenges that come with competing at the highest level. As the season progresses, the focus will be on Hadjar’s ability to recover from this early disappointment and prove his talent on the track.
