Lewis Hamilton has clarified that his iconic “Hammer Time” messages will not continue following his move to Ferrari. The phrase, famously used by his Mercedes race engineer Peter Bonnington to signal all-out pace, became a defining part of his career.

Now with Ferrari, Hamilton acknowledged that the phrase was unique to his time at Mercedes. “That was something special between Bono and me,” he explained. “Ferrari has its own style and approach, so things will be different here.”

Since Bonnington remained at Mercedes, Hamilton is working with a new race engineer, leading to a shift in communication. Although “Hammer Time” will not be part of his Ferrari journey, Hamilton is open to creating new traditions. “We’re building something great, and maybe a new phrase will come up over time,” he added.

Despite this change, Hamilton remains focused on his new challenge, and fans are eager to see if a fresh catchphrase emerges during his time with Ferrari.
