Lando Norris has hinted at a potential future move to Ferrari, stating that he knows “exactly” which team he would love to join if he ever leaves McLaren. While he remains committed to his current team, his remarks suggest that Ferrari is an attractive option for him down the line.
Norris reaffirmed his loyalty to McLaren, acknowledging the significant role the team has played in his career. He expressed his desire to stay with them for many years but admitted that Ferrari holds a special appeal as a team many drivers dream of joining.
Discussing Lewis Hamilton’s upcoming switch to Ferrari, Norris praised the move, saying that if he were in Hamilton’s position, he would likely have made the same decision. He described it as an exciting step, despite some skepticism from others.
The McLaren driver has also been linked to Red Bull in the past. Helmut Marko previously revealed that Red Bull had a contract prepared for Norris to join their junior program in 2019. However, McLaren intervened and prevented the move, ensuring Norris made his Formula 1 debut with them instead.
Addressing speculation that he avoided Red Bull to evade competition with Max Verstappen, Norris dismissed such claims. He acknowledged Verstappen as one of the best drivers in F1 history but emphasized that joining a new team and immediately challenging an established top driver is not a straightforward task for anyone.
