Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has hinted at the possibility of Daniel Ricciardo making a return to the senior Red Bull Racing team. The Australian driver, currently racing for Red Bull’s sister team, Visa Cash App RB (formerly AlphaTauri), has been vocal about his desire to regain a seat at the top team.

In a recent interview, Marko acknowledged that Ricciardo is still in contention for a Red Bull Racing seat in the future. “Daniel has the experience and talent, and if he performs at a high level, there’s always a chance,” Marko stated. However, he emphasized that Ricciardo must deliver consistent performances to be considered alongside Red Bull’s current drivers, Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez.

Ricciardo left Red Bull at the end of 2018, seeking new challenges with Renault and later McLaren, but struggled to replicate his past success. He returned to the Red Bull family in 2023 and has been working to rebuild his reputation in Formula 1.

With Pérez’s contract expiring at the end of the season, speculation is growing about who will partner Verstappen in 2025. Red Bull is also evaluating young talent, including Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda, making Ricciardo’s task even more challenging.

As the 2024 season unfolds, Ricciardo will need to prove he can still compete at the highest level if he wants to reclaim a coveted Red Bull Racing seat. His future now depends on his on-track performances.
