Three Penn State Wrestlers in Contention for NCAA’s ‘Most Dominant’ Award…

Penn State wrestling continues to dominate the national scene, with three Nittany Lions in the race for the NCAA’s prestigious “Most Dominant Wrestler” award. This honor, given annually, recognizes the most dominant competitor based on their average team points scored per match.

Among those vying for the award is top-ranked heavyweight Greg Kerkvliet, who has been nearly unstoppable this season. With a string of dominant victories, including multiple technical falls and pins, Kerkvliet has showcased his strength and skill against elite competition.

Joining him in the race are two more Penn State standouts—Carter Starocci (174 lbs) and Aaron Brooks (197 lbs). Both wrestlers have demonstrated their dominance throughout the season, consistently winning in convincing fashion. Starocci, a three-time NCAA champion, has maintained his reputation for shutting down opponents, while Brooks has used his explosive style to secure key victories for the Nittany Lions.

Head coach Cael Sanderson has praised his team’s performance, emphasizing their work ethic and commitment to excellence. “These guys put in the work every day, and it’s showing on the mat,” Sanderson said.

As the NCAA Tournament approaches, the competition for the “Most Dominant Wrestler” award remains fierce. With their eyes set on individual and team championships, Penn State’s top wrestlers will look to continue their impressive performances and solidify their place among the best in the country.

The final rankings for the award will be determined based on postseason results, adding even more excitement to an already thrilling wrestling season.
