Saquon Barkley Defends Taylor Swift After Super Bowl…Read more

Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley has spoken out in support of Taylor Swift after she was booed during the Super Bowl. The pop icon, who attended the game to cheer for her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, received a mixed reaction from fans when shown on the stadium’s big screen.

Barkley, appearing on The Howard Stern Show, expressed his confusion over the negativity toward Swift. “I don’t get it,” he said. “She’s done nothing but bring more attention to the game and help grow the sport.”

Swift’s presence at NFL games this season has been a major storyline, drawing increased viewership, particularly from younger and international audiences. While some football fans have embraced her involvement, others have criticized the constant media coverage of her during broadcasts.

Barkley emphasized that Swift has been a positive force for the league. “At the end of the day, she’s bringing more people into football. The NFL is expanding globally, and she’s a big part of that,” he added.

Despite the boos, Swift seemed unfazed and continued to support Kelce as the Chiefs secured their Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers. The couple celebrated together on the field after the game.

Barkley’s comments add to the ongoing debate about Swift’s role in the NFL. While some fans remain critical, others—including many players—recognize the impact she has had in attracting new audiences to the sport.
