Breaking:Valtteri Bottas Reveals Key Factor Behind Lewis Hamilton…read more
Former Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas has shed light on the crucial factor that influenced Lewis Hamilton’s decision to leave Mercedes and join Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season.
Hamilton’s shock move to Ferrari was announced earlier this year, ending a historic partnership with Mercedes that brought him six world championships. While many speculated about the reasons behind his departure, Bottas, who raced alongside Hamilton from 2017 to 2021, believes a key “trigger” led to his decision.
Speaking in a recent interview, Bottas suggested that Mercedes’ struggles in the past two seasons may have played a role. The team has failed to produce a car capable of challenging Red Bull’s dominance, leaving Hamilton without a championship since 2020. “Lewis is a winner, and he always wants to be in a position to fight for titles,” Bottas explained. “If he felt that wasn’t happening at Mercedes anymore, then Ferrari’s offer would have been very tempting.”
Bottas also hinted that Hamilton might be seeking a fresh challenge in the final years of his career. “A driver like him thrives on new motivation. Ferrari is an iconic team, and maybe he saw an opportunity to leave a legacy there,” he added.
With Hamilton set to race alongside Charles Leclerc at Ferrari in 2025, the move marks one of the biggest driver transfers in recent history. Fans eagerly await how the seven-time world champion will adapt to his new team.
