Former Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas has shed light on the crucial factor that influenced Lewis Hamilton’s decision to leave Mercedes and join Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season.
Hamilton’s shock move to Ferrari was announced earlier this year, ending a historic partnership with Mercedes that brought him six world championships. While many speculated about the reasons behind his departure, Bottas, who raced alongside Hamilton from 2017 to 2021, believes a key “trigger” led to his decision.
Speaking in a recent interview, Bottas suggested that Mercedes’ struggles in the past two seasons may have played a role.
