Former Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has cast doubt on Lewis Hamilton’s long-term future at Ferrari, warning that the British driver may struggle to adapt to his new team. Hamilton, who announced his shocking move from Mercedes to Ferrari for the 2025 season, is set to join Charles Leclerc in what promises to be a highly competitive partnership.

Ecclestone, known for his outspoken views, suggested that Hamilton’s time at Ferrari might not be as smooth as expected. “It’s not going to be easy for Lewis. Ferrari operates differently from Mercedes, and at this stage in his career, adapting to a new environment could be challenging,” he stated in a recent interview.

The 93-year-old also hinted that Hamilton’s move might be more about legacy than performance. “If he doesn’t deliver quickly, there will be pressure. Ferrari is ruthless when it comes to results,” he added.

Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, is leaving Mercedes after over a decade with the team, where he won six of his titles. His move to Ferrari has sparked debates about whether he can bring a championship back to the Italian team, which has not won a drivers’ title since 2007.

While fans eagerly await Hamilton’s debut in red, Ecclestone’s comments raise questions about how long the British driver will stay at Ferrari if things don’t go according to plan. The 2025 season will be crucial in determining whether Hamilton’s gamble pays off.
